RS4K sells to public school districts across the United States. When a consultant sells to or solicits a district where a family member is employed, procurement rules require that relationship to be disclosed.

Why This MattersProcurement Ethics & Your Onboarding

When school districts purchase products and services, they follow strict procurement rules designed to ensure fair, competitive, and transparent purchasing. One of the most common requirements - and a standard question on nearly every RFP (Request for Proposal) - is a conflict of interest disclosure.

The conflict arises when a consultant is selling to or soliciting a school district where an immediate family member is employed. If you earn a commission on a sale to a district where your spouse, parent, child, or other close family member works, that can constitute a prohibited conflict of interest under the district's ethics and procurement policies - and it can disqualify the entire bid or purchase, and won't pass an audit.

Because Dang Solutions sells to districts across the entire U.S. and is asked this question on virtually every RFP, we need to know about these relationships up front so we can handle them properly. This isn't about disqualifying you - it's about making sure we route accounts responsibly so that you never end up selling to a district where you have a family connection.

🏫 When a Conflict Exists

A conflict exists when you would be selling to or soliciting a school district where a spouse, domestic partner, parent, child, sibling, or in-law is employed or serves on the board. This applies regardless of which state the district is in.

🔄 What Happens If You Have One

It doesn't disqualify you. We simply make sure you're never the one selling to that district. The account gets routed to another consultant with no conflict, and you keep working everything else in your territory.

🌎 Why We Ask Broadly: Dang Solutions sells to school districts across all 50 states. Even if a family member works for a district outside your home state, you could end up being assigned that territory or that district could fall within your sales area in the future. By disclosing upfront, we can make sure you're never put in a position where you're selling to a district where a family member works. When in doubt, disclose - we'd rather know and plan around it than be caught off guard on an RFP.

Am I an employee or an independent contractor?

You are a 1099 independent contractor. This means you are self-employed, responsible for your own taxes (including self-employment tax), and you set your own schedule. Dang Solutions does not withhold taxes or provide employee benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans.

What does the background check cover?

Our screening partner, Checkr, runs a standard background check that may include criminal history, identity verification, and other checks as permitted by law. You'll receive a full disclosure and must provide written authorization before any check is conducted. All screenings comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

How long does onboarding take?

Most candidates complete the full onboarding process in 7–10 business days. The background check typically takes 3–5 days, and document signing can be completed in a single session once you receive the packet.

What if a family member works for a school district?

If you would be selling to or soliciting a district where an immediate family member is employed, that's a conflict of interest under most district procurement policies. The disclosure requirement exists because Dang Solutions sells to districts across the entire U.S. - so even a family member in another state could create a conflict if that district falls in your sales area. Disclosing does not disqualify you. We simply route that district to another consultant and you keep working everything else. We ask you to disclose family members at any district so we can plan assignments proactively.

Do I need any special equipment or licenses?

You'll need a reliable vehicle, a smartphone or laptop, and internet access. No special licenses are required unless your local jurisdiction mandates one for door-to-door sales. Sales materials and CRM access are provided by Dang Solutions.

Can I work for other companies at the same time?

Yes. As an independent contractor, you're free to work with other companies. However, you'll sign a non-solicitation agreement that prevents you from soliciting Dang Solutions customers or recruiting our other contractors for a period after your engagement ends.

What if I have questions about the documents?

We encourage you to read every document carefully and consult with your own attorney or tax professional if you have questions. Your assigned recruiter can walk you through the general purpose of each document, though they cannot provide legal advice.
